Column was closed so we didn’t get to climb it, but it was still cool and worth seeing from the outside. Hard to imagine that the view could have been better from up top than what you could see from the parking lot. Amazing views!!
Fun beach to stop and play at. Fantastic views of Haystack Rock. Parking was weird in the neighborhood where the Road Trippers app led us to. Not sure if there was a better place to park, but we made it work.
This was a nice campsite with a short walk to a beautiful beach. My husband and son got up early to go hunting for sand dollars. A little chillier at night due to the close proximity to the beach, but we enjoyed staying here.
The lighthouse was closed when we went, but the hike was the perfect length for small kids and we absolutely loved the views on the hike of the ocean and rocks below. Nice little beach for playing in the water or flying kites.
I think it’s best to determine what type of experience you want at Thor’s Well before going. We went when the tide was low, so it wasn’t as beautiful as the rest of the photos pictured here. But, we did get to walk all the way up to it. It just wasn’t as impressive as the photos at high tide. But, we were just passing through so we didn’t really get the chance to time it, we just got what we got.
Got to see the outside, but the building was locked up. Got there mid-afternoon on a Saturday. Maybe closure was due to Covid, maybe not. There weren’t any signs. Disappointed. We were looking forward to taking the kids inside to see the history and buy some salt-water taffy.
We stayed in the teepee on our way through town. The ambiance was fun, but we were disappointed that all the fun stuff had closed at 5:30 pm and we didn’t get in until later. The teepee was very hot inside, and they hadn’t emptied the garbage so there were ants... and a wasp nest inside the teepee. Thankfully nobody got stung, but it basically became just another place to sleep since all the fun stuff was closed down. They don’t have the water catapult anymore either. Bathrooms were clean. Women’s bathroom needed a code from the check-in paper to get in. Wish we’d figured that out the night before.
Couldn’t find it
