It really IS a cool park in one sense, but in reality it is HOT! Take plenty of water, then take more. This park is an amazing experience, but I would suggest going in cool weather. You have to really look for it, too, unless they've improved the signage since I was there. Also, I think you need a permit to camp overnight. And take more water. More. And more photographs...

If you're lucky, you'll see a wedding procession here. I lived in ABQ for years and I never stopped loving Old Town. This church faces the square on one side while wonderful, wonderful restaurants and shops face the other sides, but don't forget to explore the other streets radiating from the square.

I drove past this frequently when I lived in ABQ without ever considering non-residents might consider it a photo op or roadside attraction. I mostly considered it a local landmark for navigating the city. It would be a real shame to ever take it down though.
