I took the tour. Of course there wasn't a lot of tunnel left to see because a majority had been sealed up over the years but the stories and historical information was fun and it was well presented and a good way to spend a little time with strangers in the dark under the city! I had a great experience and while you have to take some of it with a grain of salt it was certainly something I would take another visiting friend to see.
I went to see The Flaming Lips play here in 2000. I had never been inside for a show, the first thing you will notice are the strange floating wood floors that move beneath your feet. The next thing you will notice is the beautiful fixtures. In fact, they did not throw the balls around like they do at most of their shows because they didn't want to damage the lights!
This where I will go when I die. And lets just stop to think about the fact that you need a map to navigate this place. It has stories of books on every subject imaginable. It is a playground for those who love literature. It feels like an amusement park for the literary world! It smells like knowledge and old books and coffee. It has good coffee (of course) and very awesome staff. Free parking in the parking garage and this is very good because you can lose an entire day to this place without even trying! There is usually some art to enjoy while your there as well as awesome recommended readings on every shelf. I LOVE YOU POWELL"S!!! <3
Nice place to catch all sorts of goings on and people watch!
What can I say, this is so iconic, how can you NOT take a picture here?
This place was absolutely gorgeous when I went to it, but at that specific time they were making repairs to the sewer system and it smelled absolutely horrible!!
Beautiful garden. A very nice place to stop and have a traditional tea as well!
I loved OMSI when I went for a film and the GAME ON installation. It was an absolute blast. I had been there other time with children and it was fun for them mostly but this time it was fun for me! I played a connect four like game with robotic arms, and really just enjoyed the entire place.
I was wandering about and stumbled upon this place. it was a very pretty place with a nice atmosphere. I shopped around a bit and would go back again.
I absolutely loved this place. It was extremely fun and free, we just paid a donation to go on a ride and it was a pretty long ride with cute little miniatures and funny things along the way. I would go again and I went without a child! :)
