Super wacky house that's worth checking out, even if you can't get inside. Seems like it's always for sale, so if you can convince the owners that you're serious about purchasing it, you could probably get yourself a tour.

Not the kind of place you can easily visit, but if you can convince someone to give you access, it's pretty spectacular to see. The gymnasium is essentially abandoned and hasn't been used for years, so has become a weird dumping ground for all kinds of the school's storage. It's kind of like Scrooge McDuck's giant pool of coins, but instead of coins, it's televisions and computer equipment.

Cool abandoned subway to see in person, so long as you don't mind dodging security. Not quite as awesome as it might have been before all the hideous tagging, but still fun to adventure through nonetheless.

Hands down the most important artifact from the Spiritualist movement, and it's incredible that you can see it with your own two eyes. The psychic hotlines, Long Island Medium, Sylvia Brown... they wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Fox Sisters and this table. Whether you believe that's a good thing or a bad thing, this is a really awesome piece of history.

Beautiful old cemetery with lots of ghost stories attached. Of course, you don't need to be a paranormal investigator to appreciate the graveyard. Absolutely bring along a camera... this is a place you're going to want to photograph.

Really great little arts and crafts village, with lots of indigenous arts. The place is as much of museum as it is a shop, and worth visiting if you're in the area.

Very friendly psychic, and the rates are comparable to others, but let's get this out of the way right now - if you don't believe in psychics, you're going to think it's a rip off anyway.

That said, Madame Bonnie is friendly and attentive, and her hits seem to be spot on. If you're looking for a good psychic reading, for entertainment or not, you'll do well here.

Unbelievable museum, particularly if you're a gearhead. This place will blow your mind, but you have GOT to plan a full day around it.

There's more than just "car stuff" here too, though, like the chair that Lincoln was assassinated in. Actually, if you're into death tourism, this place doesn't disappoint.. they even have the limo that Kennedy was killed in as well.

If you love trains, you'll love this nice little rural museum, where they have five antique steam engines on display. The best part? They're actually fully functional! In addition, there's even the Frazee Automobile, the very first gas-powered car made in Iowa, which dates all the way back to 1901. It's the only one ever made, and really cool to see in person.

This is the kind of charming little museum you only discover in small towns. Lots of great exhibits including a full pioneer village. They even have actors come in and fill the village during special events.

Their hours come and go very quickly, but they're really helpful and accommodating, so you can always call them and they;re happy to open up a little early or stay open a little later.
