Besides cougar hot springs outside of McKenzie Bridge in Oregon, this is hands down the best natural hot spring I've been to. Slept in the parking lot in the van though not ideal because there's some traffic on the road. People visiting well into the night, despite the rural location and hardcore drive (in the snow). Free as far as I could tell in the cold months.
Hands down the best hot springs experience. Park nearby (no overnighting though there are state campgrounds down the road 2 miles) and hike in for 5 mins. I highly recommend a winter visit. The tiered pools move from hotter to cooler as you walk down the slope. Even the upper most pool (often ~103 degrees) can fit 10 humans in with space. Kids welcome though note clothing is optional. Place to store your things with a roof and even leash up the dog.
People have been going nuts for this local swimming whole. There are a few parking areas (four!) and sometimes even rangers around in the summer to help direct the traffic. That's how popular it's gotten. Still a good spot though. A true hole. I like Bash Bish falls in the Berkshires better if you're looking for a spot outside of NYC for a day trip and hike.
This is one address for (arguably) the country's most beautiful National and State Park. Even though it's a global destination you can spend a quiet day here with the giants. Communicating the experience of seeing the Redwoods truly isn't meant for a keyboard. No excuses, go if you're in the area. Share the experience or clear you mentality in solitude. Feels awkward to rate this one...
Went to this beach - I guess it's a beach? Great local spot for the kids to hang and definitely a place to dunk. Nothing extremely special but then again...it's a beach in Ohio! Town of Batavia nearby is pretty darn cute. I recommend the hiking and camping for sure.
Hands down the best night of dancing in my life. Unbelievable senegalese restaurant that turns up at night with a DJ and tons of community members who come out to dance. Occasionally a cover charge for the Saturday dance nights. I can't speak to the food but the bar met my standards of hydration.
Good amount of seating but it still gets crowded since tables don't turn over fast when you're busy playing ANY BOARD GAME YOU WANT. I love this old school game, Masterpiece and they had it, so I was sold. I'd recommend posting up early and coming with a group of ~4.
Yeah just an absolute classic. If you asked somewhere where to go in Austin, I'm 90% sure you've already got this recommended to you. If you haven't asked, I'm telling you. Hit Torchy's! Luckily it doesn't matter too much which Torchy's you choose supposedly. I hit this one and was SO satisfied. I crave this place. The diablo ain't that spicy so go for it.
The second of two locations (the other is in North Oak Cliff). A great little book shop where you can trade in used books and explore music too.
It's the Ritz and it feels like it. I was here for a wedding and the event space was really beautiful and expansive. As always, amazing towels, bathrobes, and...mario kart on the PPV
