We stopped here a couple years ago. It was very interesting and my kids really enjoyed climbing on the rocks. Worth the trip!
Plan ahead if you would like to take a tour of the factory. We arrived as the first tour of the day was beginning and found that all the tours until 4pm were sold out. We will try to go on another trip.
This place was wonderful. We pitched a tent right by the river. A big orange moon rose over the river and we watched the barges go by, lit-up at night. My kids made mud pies and there was a nice laundry room. I was definitely glad to have bug-spray for pitching the tent by the light of my headlights, but they were all gone in the morning and it was beautiful. We would definitely like to stay there again sometime.
It's a nice place to stay. We have been there twice over the years.
I wasn't able to find the campground in the dark. Improved signage might help. I was coming down through Carbondale.
This park was totally awesome. My sons, 8, 11, & 19 loved it and so did I. I really enjoyed the artwork of the mosaic-topped benches and also the giant dragon.
