A great stop if you're passing through! Listen to the audio history of the fountain, located at the left entrance, and marvel at the other Hans Christian Andersen-themed sculptures.

We visited the morning after Austin's historic spring 2015 flooding and when I called to make sure the Magnolia still had power, the sassy hostess who answered told me: “Oh honey, we never close.”

The perfect spot to start your morning or end your late night!

If there’s one thing I truly love, it’s a good pun. Combine one with some awesome street art and I’m yours forever. Great place to snap a photo with your sweetie!

Between the obligatory sugar (I recommend the chocolate shakes) you'll consume and the whirring, buzzing animatronics of Ella's Deli, you're sure to have major sensory overload after your visit. If you visit during the summer, don't forget to ride the 1920s carousel out front!

One of the most magical places I've ever been! Dr. Evermor's Forevertron is definitely worth a visit even if it's a bit out of your way. Explore the world's largest scrap metal sculpture and be inspired by Tom Every's incredible creations.

Travel tips: The park is actually opens at noon on Sunday, not 11 am. And if directions are a problem, simply type Forevertron into Google Maps to be directed to the correct entrance.

I happened across the Dickeyville Grotto by accident and was delighted! If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop and a great free attraction to see while stretching your legs. Great for fan's of Iowa's Grotto of the Redemption!

A true Des Moines gem! With works from major artists like Jaume Plensa, Keith Harring and Olafur Eliasson, the Pappajohn Sculpture Park is a great place to enjoy the city's beautiful skyline or grab some lunch from a local food truck.

You can find a free audio tour of the park on the Art Center's website or by calling the phone number on the individual sculpture labels.

If there's one place that’s the mecca of Austin street art, it’s the Hope Outdoor Gallery on Baylor Street! We had an incredible time exploring this "living" art project when we visited earlier this spring.

We had no idea ahead of time, but you're welcome to bring your own spray paint and make an addition to the wall when you visit.

We didn't have time to visit the museum when we passed through Oklahoma City, but the outdoor memorial was an incredibly powerful tribute to the city's most tragic day. Don't miss the Survivor Tree on the north side of the memorial— it's an immensely beautiful natural symbol of this city's resilience.

Bonaparte's National Historic Riverfront District is absolutely worth exploring if you're passing through town! We loved all of the incredible architecture and amazing restoration that has been done on some of these buildings from as early as the 1840s.
