We stopped here on our way from Fruita, CO to Eureka Springs, AR. As far as I could tell this was really the only cool natural feature to stop and see through this part of the country. Worth the detour, also cool just to see the rural country side. Great place to stop for a picnic lunch and a dog walk.

Awesome place to camp! Really cool little alcoves in the rocks all over the place to block the wind. We came here in the spring for a mountain bike trip and loved it. We also did a UTV trip on the Hell's Revenge Trail that was definitely worth the money. It does get windy at Sand Flats and, as the namesake goes, the sand blows too. Most of the camping here is cheap and close to Moab.
Neat hike and hot spring. There are several pools to choose from. We came here on our way down to Moab and camped at a near by campground which was also very nice. The whole area back there was really neat. It looked like there was also some climbing and maybe other outdoor activities here too. It was last spring when we went and I think it was a Saturday because there were a lot of families and boy scout troops. I would advise a weekday for this reason. Other than it being busy, it was a great find and the hot springs were fun.
We camped here in the spring with our small aluminum boat and went fishing. Beautiful and quiet. Great bird watching opportunities on the lake. Be 'bear aware' here.
Great scenic byway, especially in the spring when the waterfalls are really going off.
