This hotel is kinda’ a mess right now - it is under construction and the staff seems a bit lost. I’d call to see if try their remodel is over before staying here.
It is really pretty and you can pay to walk up to the top - with the church in the back ground it’s amazing to see
My kids loved it! If you have time to spare the video inside is awesome and end really cool! If your kids like scavenger hunts - in the park outside there are plates in the grass for all 50 states! (It isn’t a formal thing but it would be easy to make up for cheap fun!)
This place was really quiet - we were told people were discouraged by metered parking - but it is a $1 and hour and you probably need an hour or hour or 2 to really walk the whole thing - view and photo ops of George Washington Bridge are unbeatable
It can be HOT there and dangerous be prepared to bring water and good shoes as you hike over sand to see it... however they are working on a safer observation area.
Ok so we couldn't stay there - too scared, next to it is a scary old cemetery too - if you like to be creeped out it is totally the place - but everyone was very nice as we took photos. The town also has Tesla charging station which seems out of place but could come in handing if you have the need
This is a great stop if you want quick photos - the pond has huge fish in it and it is a catch and release pond - a cat fish jumped and I thought one of my kids fell in - it was that big...
This is a really cute Route 66 town and worth the detour on 44 - the bridge is not in the right location but there are soda fountains in town and a cute 66 gas station for photo ops - and a REALLY COOL metal Kansas 66 sign really close...
This is a fun stop and the civic center there - next to it is an AMAZING war memorial which adds to the stop
So there is a Dallas CityPass deal that isn't a bad deal if you plan to go to their science museum - but if you are going to do any Dallas tourist thing - I'd suggest this - it is an audio tour of JFK's life and they do a really nice job educating even those that know nothing about JFK... My kids really loved it - and we are still talking about who did it... there are the standard tourist traps there with vendors trying to sell papers that have photos from the day, but they were all very nice and added to my kids experience. Take the time to walk the whole plaza... I'm guessing the Boos Depository would have been torn down if this museum wasn't created so we were happy to support it so this part of history stays... Parking right there on Elm and cost between $6-$10 depending on the day and get validated in the museum to save a couple bucks
