Inexpensive, solid place to stay in Homestead, and you get a free breakfast. The "star" is the swimming pool, which is a welcome sight after a long drive.
The tent campsites are located in a nice part of the park, although the beach isn't great (very rocky). The campsites are small-ish, but there are good showers, and it's a short drive to the concession store and the swimming beach. It's about a 45-minute drive to Key West where you will find good dining, snorkel trips and the famous sunset.
Great place for happy hour!
A solid, no-frills place to stay in South Beach. Rooms are small but do the job. The "star" is the swimming pool. As well, it's only a short walk to Ocean Avenue. Tip: catch a bite at Sandwicherie around the corner on 14th Avenue
There aren't many campsites so you're lucky to grab one. We were tent camping but were disappointed that the sites were small, had no tree coverage, and were shaped like holding pens. I would book an RV spot, even you only have a tent. It's closer to the showers and offers a great view of the Atlantic Ocean.
For a good lunch, Le Sandwicherie is the place to go in South Beach. The sandwiches are delicious (and huge!), the salads are fresh, and the fruit shakes are great. Even better, you can cool off under water misters. The only drawback - and it's small one - is there isn't a lot of seating but that shouldn't deter you.
Beautiful location with lots of great campsites. If you're willing to drive a little bit out of your way, it's well worth it.
