Good location off highway. About $40 Uber to get into downtown. Very friendly and clean. The music at night was a nice touch!
Beware: not much room to park an RV. Get there early if you have a big one!
A favorite hike of the trip. I recently had ACL surgery and although VERY steep the path made it possible to hike with crutches. The .5 mile hike to the top will take 30min for the average walker and well worth it! We were lucky enough to have one of very few clear days so we could see all around (although I’m sure being in the clouds would be fun too).
Great sight and great path and lots of room for parking an RV- hard to find with many paths.
Spent 2 nights in Cades Cove and two nights in Elkmont. Beautiful campsites with many accessible walking paths. Kids did the 11 mile Cades Cove bike loop, hiked up to Clingmans Dome to see all the views, hiked to laurel fall and spent a day in Gaitlinburg for all the tourists trap stops (Ripleys, aquarium, shops). Pictures don’t do this park justice. Absolutely breathtaking!
We stayed at cafes cove 2 nights and it was great. Many easy walking paths to choose from, kids did the 11 mile bike loop on the bikes only Wednesday. Saw turkey, deer and one bear. Highly recommend!
Great clean campground. Has mini putt available for free and kids loved it.
Love the 250 stair climb on the presidential trail. Worth the easy climb.
RV clearance of 10’9” through tunnels. We didn’t risk it.
We stayed in the south unit and absolutely love it! We came the first week of fall and although some paths were closed for the season we felt like we had the park to ourselves. Bison come up to the camp site- saw wild horses and prairie dogs on our walks.
Generators off 8-8 makes for a very quiet stay. I’d pick an outside site on the cottonwood loop for the best views. We stayed on the inside loop and it was good but would have preferred the outside. 2 days was maybe too short but had to keep going on our trip.
