Located on Seawall Rd, this is a fairly quick and easy trail which is approximately a 1.4 mile loop (figure 8) and takes around half-hour to complete. Pleasant forest trail which also meanders along Ship Harbor and the Gulf of Maine. Trailhead is from a parking lot. There is a vault restroom there as well.

Yes, as it is a privately owned park, they do charge an entrance fee. However, the experience from the top alone makes it worth it - and there’s much more to the mountain than just that! Won’t list here but overall, what you get for the effort you put in and the experience you get in return is tenfold. No sweaty, forty-five minute, one-way hikes to a lookout (unless you want to). They really made things quick and easy, enabling you to focus on the beauty of the mountain - the flora and fauna - without the tiresome distraction of wondering “how much further”?

Fantastic campsite with priceless views. Bathroom/Hot Showers are provided. Large sites. Woke up to an Elk meandering by just 20 feet from my tent - incredible. The only minor, negative thing I experienced was that of the car/motorcycle noise from the nearby parkway. But that dies down with the setting sun. Aside from that, it is such a beautiful and serene place to stay.
Be sure to call ahead for reservations.

Beautiful trails with awe inspiring vistas. The trails are well groomed, with few trip points. This makes for a hike people of all ages and hiking abilities can enjoy. The many lookouts are all spectacular - with views of the falls and river valley. While traversing the forest from one vantage point to another, be sure to look up and take in the beauty of the towering evergreens.

If you’re in the area (within half hour or so) it’s a nice little off-the-path place to see. It’s a short, quick hike to the falls. Not much to it and you probably won’t be there very long but worth it nevertheless.
