We used the Prospect Hotel as our base for visiting Crater Lake, but ended up really enjoying the surrounding area as well. We were in the main house, and had a nice sized room with an en suite bathroom. Each of the rooms is named after a historic figure from the town, and is decorated in quaint Victorian style. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Upon arrival, they provided us with a detailed map of the area, directions for visiting Crater Lake as well as some fun stops along the Rogue River nearby and on the way to Crater Lake. As far as the food goes - you definitely won't leave hungry! Portions for both breakfast (included) and dinner (make a reservation at the desk) are hearty, and the food was very tasty! Its a ways from Crater lake (probably about a 40 minute drive), but was very relaxing and a fun place to stay.

We mad this stop on a bit of a whim, while driving from Santa Barbara to Cambria, CA before doing Big Sur. Such a great decision! If you're passing through this area, definitely spend a few hours here. It's a ways into the park before you get to eh main parking lot, but well worth the drive in. From the parking lot, you have a few different options. You can hike down to the beach (there was a pretty clear path, and it's definitely a regulated trail), out on the bluffs, or head up into the hills to Valencia Peak. We did all three of these things, starting with Valencia Peak. It's quite a hike, and a pretty steady grade, but if you're up for it there are some spectacular views along the coast. Unfortunately, we were there on an overcast day, but there were some moments when the fog lifted and it was breathtaking. I would love to get back here again and do some more exploring, as it appeared that there were quite a few trails. Highly recommend!

We stopped here at the recommendation our our B&B in Santa Barbara. We were passing through the Santa Rosa area en route to drive up Big Sur the following day and looking for a nice place to stop, sample some wine and relax. Mosby was definitely a great choice! They specialize in Italian varietals, which isn't as common for this area, and had a great selection. Definitely recommend to other travelers in this area!

Wonderful little winery in Santa Rosa. We made a stop here on our way from Santa Barbara to Cambria (our starting point for the driving up Big Sur). It was recommended by the B&B owners in Santa Barbara, and was definitely worth a stop! They specialize in Italian varietals (which isn't as common in this area). We were there on a Wednesday, so were the only customers during our mid-afternoon stop, and had a nice time chatting with the woman working as we enjoyed a tasting. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through this area!
