Fun little hike. Extremely well marked. Great falls that you can enjoy from multiple spots, including behind the falls themselves.
Easy hike to the top of the falls but a steep hike down to the bottom which is where you want to go. Don’t bother going unless you can manage the steep trail at the end. That’s where the great views are—at the bottom. Bring lunch.
Powerful. Go. Just go.
Small but earnest. The museum tries to focus on the foot soldiers of the movement, in particular the ordinary folks that participated in the Selma to Montgomery March.
One of the more interesting sections was the one that dealt with a recent anniversary celebration when Selma citizens were asked to finish the sentence: “Selma, we are….” Very interesting to get a sense of how much and how little has changed.
Not open to the public but with driving past

Nice place to stop. A docent was very knowledgable about the history. I didn’t take the tour (Not enough time to wait for the next scheduled one.) nice place for a picnic and rest rooms.
Interesting little bit of history to learn about ammunition production. It’s a beautiful site with bathrooms. Great place to take a break and picnic.
Beware that you often can’t go under or beyond the arch during the month of January because of the risk of falling icicles. It was a little disappointing even though I received a discount on the admission price. It’s still a beautiful stop and a great place for a picnic lunch—even on a sunny day on January.
