The quilts are pretty cool, but make sure you download the maps and barn guides (which are a little hard to follow) from the website. You really have to get off the main roads through towns and drive to the farms to see them--lots of backtracking and circling. (Although there are a few you can see just from the main road.) It's beautiful country and a nice drive. We rearranged our route to take a couple in and I'm glad we did.

GO! This grotto is amazing and the picture here, doesn't do it justice. The amount of shells and gems is incredible and so beautifully crafted. We stopped for about an hour wandering the different caves. It was probably our favorite stop on our roadtrip.

SO WORTH THE STOP! We loved seeing this and learning about the POW camp. The nativity is beautiful, much bigger than anticipated, and provides a really peaceful atmosphere. It's amazing how they made it--wood frames, plaster, and cement. We went in June and had to call to set up an appointment to see it. But it's open regularly in December for the Christmas season.

The Chee-to is looking pretty old and gross. It sits on a purple velvet pillow in a glass case, set in a random corner by the kitchen in Emerald's restaurant. Kind of sad. But kind of funny too. It took the waitress a couple seconds to even know what we were talking about when we told her we were there to see the Chee-to. We didn't stay to eat, we just took pictures and left. I'd say don't go out of your way to see it, but if you're driving through, it's worth the 5 minutes, just to say you saw it. Definitely weird and random and provided a good laugh.

The site is in the middle of a field and the glasses statue on the side of the road marks the beginning of the "trail" to where the actual plane went down. It's about a mile maybe (?) from the road to the crash site, where you'll find a small "memorial". We listened to Buddy Holly's music on the way to the site, took pictures with the glasses and called it good. Kind of a cool site to see and I'm glad we stopped. It took all of 15 minutes.

We went to this maze in June and had a blast. It's a lot harder than you think it will be (even for 3 intelligent adults!) and took about an hour and 15 minutes to make it through. There are seven stations within the maze that you gave to "pass". I'd totally go again.
