Another great detour well worth the stop. Nice up close views even from the van.
Awesome views of the river.
Only open for breakfast. Inside the Days Inn West Yellowstone. Coupon from the Inn made the price right, $2.30 tax and tip. Could not get a breakfast to go for wife who chose to sleep in.
Could call this Whistling Pines, at night the wind comes down the canyon. Smoking area is protected from the wind and weather. No restaurants within walking distance.
Only issue was when we checked in they did not ask who else was staying in the room. When my wife's room key did not work, they took her key and would not give her a new one because she was not listed as a guest. Plus with all the plush carpet in the casino and the LONG hallway to the room her scooter battery ran very low.
Well worth the drive. Great up close view of the trees.
Had the balcony room, nice view of the Eel River and distant view of the ocean. Dinner was a pasta bar, cooked to order, add what you wanted. Very good.
The food was really good, just as I remembered from 40 years ago.
Walked to the stadium from our hotel. Walkways to and from the stadium are not clearly marked, and very few cutouts for mobility scooters outside. Once in the stadium it was great. We had Diamond Club seats, view was great. Food bill for three adults was reasonable for really good ballpark fare.
Hotel staff was great in getting us switched to an ADA room. Missed breakfast by 5 minutes, could not even get coffee for the road. Great location, walked to the Angels Stadium.
