This place is great, we stayed in one of the little cabins down by the creek and it was really beautiful! For breakfast before continuing on our trip, we walked up to the restaurant and sat in the outdoor seating area and it was like being in a little secrete garden. Our cabin had a fireplace and full kitchen, little bathroom with studio style living room and bedroom set up. Rustic, clean and cozy.
It's just called Johnston canyon. We stayed in one of the cabins here right about the trail head and it was amazing. We had to wake up really early to try and beat the tour busses that show up around 8am and walk painfully slow and I swear are in complete oblivion that other people are around. The plus side to doing it early is the morning light in the canyon!!
Love this place so much! I always get one of the little cabins set back in the woods so it's more private.
Really amazing place! A must do for sure, and it's just right off the highway. Steep, but short paved trail takes you to the top lookout.

Owners are very nice, $10 less than other campgrounds during off season. Surrounded by a trailer park, and the campsites are out in the open no privacy or woodsy feeling at all despite being right off the Ave of The Giants. Good enough if you're just passing through and need a place to crash, but not true camping by my Oregonian standards.
