Oscoda has a beautiful public beach with clean sand and no rocks or seaweed to worry about. There is a playground and splash pad, volleyball court, public bathrooms/showers, a short pier, skateboard park, basketball court, and band shell.

There are definitely better beaches on Lake Michigan. This one is vastly more secluded than others, though it was still fairly crowded on an August Saturday. We naively did "beach day" with coolers and food and tents, this was not the right location for that. The walk through the park to the shore was 3/4 mile, and somehow uphill both ways. If we hadn't been hauling crap for 5 people plus lunch and snacks and two umbrella/tents it would have been beautiful and enjoyable. The beach area has largely been consumed by grass, there is about a 1/2 mile stretch of sandy beach that is about 25 feet deep from water to dune. Beautiful, but probably not the best.

Such a cute little shop! We stopped in for gelato and the flavors were amazing. Not the best gelato I've ever had (not very smooth), but delicious and refreshing on a hot day. Well enjoyed walking along the water right outside.

My friends and I loved this pie. There are tons of shops selling key lime pie, so I'm sure you can find comparable taste, but I loved the chocolate dipped-frozen key lime pie on a stick and the ladies I was with both enjoyed their regular pie. This is also an old-fashioned candy shoppe with a ton of candies and treats to choose from

You should go for the photo op, but beware the long line of tourists doing the same thing. If you're quick you can get a selfie in while the people in line switch out. There is also a cool statue right next to this, of a man blowing a conch shell, and a street art poem.

Cute little home-made pepper sauce shop. They have a very wide-variety of sauces and things to purchase, and they will let you sample any of them for free!

Note that the mapped location for this site is wrong. It is actually located on the east coast in the town of Cushendun, not in Moyle.

It really is the best of the Smithsonian museums. So many interesting exhibits, some unapologetically sciency! Plus, there is a McDonalds inside...a really expensive one, but still better priced than any of the other food courts in the Mall museums.
