We LOVED Signal Mountain! It was full of small but private campsites. The showers were within walking distance of our site they were always clean and hot. We never had to wait for a shower and they will let families share. We really enjoyed waking up every morning and walking to the general store for a latte. The lodge has a couple of restaurants that are decent. We really enjoyed that it was a less popular campground but was central to everything we wanted to do. Remember your in a National Park so everything is pricey.
Very clean campsites with easy access to all Jekyll Island amenities. The shower house was always clean with an ample supply of hot water! There is a pet fee BUT we found the entire island to be quite pet friendly. You can even take your dog to the local pizza place and eat on the porch. There is also a fee to enter the island but once you do there is really no reason to leave. It was a little pricy and does have a 2 night min on weekends but it is so convenient it is worth a few more dollars a night. All in all we enjoyed our stay and are planning to bring family back next year.
