It’s expensive if you have a large family. You can spend anywhere from 2-4 hours here. Very educational and some very cool exhibits. My 4 year old enjoyed the children’s area. There are rides and simulators to experience but those are an additional cost.
Great place to get out of the car and stretch your legs for a bit.
A fun, clean playground for children of all ages and disabilities. There are public restrooms (not so clean) and picnic tables in a covered, shaded area. There is a play area for larger kids and a separate area for small children. Fun for all.
Nice, short walk alongside Lake Michigan. Sculptures on one side, lake on the other. Near the Civil War Museum and Kenosha Public museum.
We walked all the way from Nebraska to Iowa!! It was a hike!! On the Iowa side of the bridge theres a little playground for kids to play and a beautiful view of the Omaha skyline. On the Nebraska side, you can see great views of the river. The walk wasn’t very long but a great way to stretch those legs.
We stopped in to learn about the trail and unfortunately the ranger was not very helpful. He told us to take a pamphlet. At least there were clean restrooms and my daughter was able to get her cancellation for her passport
Good location, centrally located. Everything was very clean and staff was friendly. Parking in an indoor garage attached to the hotel. Very active nightlife in the area, don’t expect a goodnight sleep, no fault to the hotel itself.
Great stop for an hour or so. The rangers are very informative and take pride. Short walk away is Herbert and Lou Hoover’s gravesite as well as the Herbert Hoover Library and Museum
The hotel was mostly clean and breakfast was good. Not a lot of options but still something. The hotel is not very old but is showing a bit of wear in places due to lack of maintenance. The midday/evening staff was not great but the morning staff was absolutely pleasant and helpful.
We visited Windmill Island Gardens during Tulip Time. The tulips were absolutely beautiful. Go first thing in the morning!! There was a waiting line outside to the street waiting to get in when we left at 11 am. Note: during Tulip Time their even hours are different than posted hours. Check their website directly.
