This post is misleading, there's is a giant head photo op from the Taconic Parkway - but that's a highway and not a great spot to stop. The head that you can see is part of a Sculpture Garden in Chatham NY (Google Taconic Sculpture Garden or drive in to town and look for the hand painted signs) it's at the end of a remote dead end... but don't get scared off! It's just when you thought you've gone too far. We pulled up and a friendly man greeted us & asked where we drove in from - then left us undisturbed to walk his amazing grounds. The giant white head all the way at the edge of the property has a small door and then a ladder that you can climb and check out the views. We brought our dog and that didn't seem to be a problem. It's really amazing. You should totally go.

Great place for a photo op, scenic views, teepee shaped and in general endearing.

Amazingly creepy and up a windy climb (that your car can take if you don't want to) Cool views from the top, really old headstones with cool local history, and dog friendly (on leash)

Peaceful dome - google maps : grafton peace pagoda & it takes you right there. Park near the sign walk a super short distance (6 minute nature trail with possibly the most signs to help you - or up the gravel road) impressive, peaceful, free - dogs seem to be welcome just not inside the one building.

Went on a Saturday. Was right where the map brings you. Every one there was super nice and alpacas look like alien muppets. You can get really close to them and walk around and see everything. It's really nice there - go it's free and there's soft things to buy like yarn and slippers.

Went today and there was a giant gnome there. Who doesn't love that.
