Stopped here in November 2013, map location is exactly right on the spot! The climb up the hill is very short, less than 100 yards and the hill is not steep. We climbed it after 2 days of rain and no problems, there was even a bench halfway up if you want to sit down. There were no bugs (maybe because it was November) and at the top there is a statue of "Merlin" using the picture of a local person which is explained there on a small sign. All in all, a great stop, very unique. One of the foam "blocks" was missing as well so you could see how they were anchored with wood and steel beams. Check out the sign at the bottom of the hill explaining how and why it was built (to the left after you enter from the street).

Solemn place, but very educational as well. There is a car tour (with a booklet) to go around the battlefield to see the points of interest and monuments. Also lots of plaques to explain what happened there in various places. Recommend a visit if you are into historical events.

Cool shop and great place to stop. Once you exit the freeway, it's a short drive through town - can be there in just a few minutes from I-40.

The view in the picture above is taken from a hotel called The View Hotel, situated right there at Monument Valley. Impressive views and a beautiful place - the pictures don't do it justice, it should be seen in person.

Literally right next to the road (Route 160) on the north side of the pavement. The indicator is in about the right spot on the drive (about halfway between Tuba City and Kayenta). Can't miss them, especially if you are driving from Kayenta to Tuba City.

Great spot to stop, very unique. Burros roaming the streets (watch where you step) and the Hotel bar with the dollar bills on the walls is great. If you approach from Needles, it's a very easy drive (straight lines and then minimal curves before you get to the town), but if you approach from Kingman be prepared for an older road with lots of curves and turns. We arrived from Needles and drove through to Kingman. There are some GREAT views approaching Kingman from Oatman but if you are prone to carsickness be prepared.
