My husband had always wanted to go to Hawks Cay and they had last minute availability so we booked a two bedroom villa. The resort grounds were beautiful, the hotel lobby and pool are were really cool but that was about it. I though it was way too expensive. Husband ordered a Martini from the bar $18. There is trolly service to take you from one part of resort to the other but only one was in service and whenever we waited it was too full for our family. I have lots to complain about but we did manage to have a great time. I thought the best deal was $10 for SUP rental for 30 minutes in their lagoon but the attendant let my kids take it out for as long as they wanted. :)
This place was the perfect stop on our way home. They have tarpon feeding, you buy a bucket of small fish to feed the giant tarpon by hand. Its so much fun to do and watch other people do. Its only $3.50 a for about 8-10 fish. They also have cute little shops where we bought souvenirs and the kids bought hermit crabs.
Had lunch here today on the way home. Very limited parking but they said you could park an RV at the church on the northbound side. Food was very good. Service was good and quick we sat outside and it was very chilly and windy. We had their Key Lime freeze drink to go and it was incredible!!!
We did this July of 2015 from Lewes to Cape May. It was so cool driving our RV onto the ferry. The kids loved it, the ferry was clean, staff was nice and drinks were reasonable. It did cost about $80. for the RV and family of 5. Lots of people take their bikes for the day to explore.
Really neat. I recommend doing this at least once. We stopped in the middle at the gift shop and observation. The views are great. Like the other reviewer said, i wouldn't go out of my way to do it again.
