We stayed there in 2015 and room was clean and comfortable.
The help was very good. The hotel is getting rundown and needs attention but this entire area is looking a bit depressed. Per some of the locals since the flooding in 2011, the area hasn’t been the same. The hotel is ok but I probably will pick another place. The food at the buffet was dry, tasteless, and it appeared some food had been sitting for awhile. It’s not the help...they are fab, but the hotel is just not being maintained. Boyd gaming...fix it!

This was an exceptional piece of history to visit and explore. We toured on June 6 at 9:45app and our tour guide (not sure of name) was excellent and gave insight into family history, explained the battle that took place and how the battle of Franklin was the turning point in the Civil War. They also used it for a field hospital. Approximately 300+ injured soldiers were in this house at one time and the battle involved approximately 40,000 fighting men. This history is well worth visiting. So glad I know more about our countries battles and challenges of the Civil War.
The food was excellent. I had a cup of gumbo and raw oysters from Gulf. My friend had the Cobb salad. We shared hush puppies with cheese grits and shrimp which came with coleslaw and a sirachi sweet glaze. Every thing very delicious. We had pineapple mojitos..,also refreshing. Comfortable, casual atmosphere with live music...very soothing background music ... one male singer on guitar playing Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg. Great place to relax, eat good food and listen to music.
Had the brisket and it was tender and tasty. Also tried the pulled pork and it was good. BBQ sauce very good. Coleslaw, hush puppies and Mac n cheez were good but the BBQ was the yummy! Casual dining and place was full so plan accordingly.
Clean hotel, all rooms on first floor with parking outside door. Staff was nice and helpful. We wanted to get in pool and spa but we were too tired. The weather was also very cool and rainy and walk to pool and spa was more than we wanted that night. Breakfast looked good.
Good beer, excellent snacks and food. The nachos were over the top delicious and more than one person can eat, the fries with gravy were unique and yummy. And most important beer was good! I would come back here again. It does get very crowded as this is a college town so plan accordingly.
The room was clean, help was ok, spa and pool under repair and not available. The hotel was under construction. The rate was very reasonable but I was looking forward to spa and disappointed it was not available.
Great place to visit and incredible artifacts of this fascinating family. The place had flooded on the walkways while there but everyone hospitable. There was plenty to see of a large working cattle ranch.
The hotel was clean and the room good, pool and spa clean and working, breakfast better than usual.
The room was fine except safe was locked, tv and land line phone did not work. John on nights was quick to come up and get the TV going but remote had to be held directly in front of TV receptor until it could be fixed. We talked to the manager Brandy who said she would come fix the tv reception and safe. Waited 45 minutes and left for wine and beer tasting. When we arrived back late afternoon nothing had been fixed. Room had been cleaned up by maid. Next morning Brandy told us she was not able to work without us in the room. I was not understanding why she couldn't come into room and fix the safe and TV but the maid could make the beds, etc. Very disappointed with Brandy and the lack of amenities we paid for.
