The parliament buildings look the best when lit up at night with Christmas lights! It will be a quick and easy stop while seeing the inner harbour and the empress so I would definitely recommend it!

The Juan De Fuca trail is one of the most epic hikes you will do in your entire lifetime!

It is limited as to how many people they let do it per year but if you plan far enough in advance you will be able to. It is out of this world!

This is a place that I always recommend to tourists! Everyone has heard of the capilano suspension bridge, however this one is just as impressive for free and without all of the tourists!
Definitely recommend this spot if you are in the area!

Petosky is exactly what you would expect from a beach in michigan. White sand beach leading out into the lake. That being said there are a few things that bring this beach up ahead of the rest! The first is the awesome campground right up the road from it, and the second is the wind surfing!

When I was here there was anywhere from 4-6 guys windsurfing through out the day! There was even a guy trying to regular surf which was rather amusing!

This is a bigger KOA and has more tenting area then usual but they keep up everything very well! Overall clean and the staff were more than friendly! They let me switch spots to be more shade covered as the day went on.

As for location it is at the base of the park and is literally the closest possible place you can stay. Definitely recommend staying here.

This is known as the PNE and is without a doubt worth coming to. There are a ton of rides and events going on!

Even though the PNE is only a few weeks out of the year most of the park is still open and known as playland!

Protip: go on halloween for a trippy crazy experience! They call it freight night.

The hike to get here in itself is amazing but once you crest this ridge (you have to hike up the backside) your mind will be blown. It is beyond beautiful! It is difficult to express it as when you do this hike the base camp (its a 2 night adventure unless you are an insane athlete) is at the lake level. So you can appreciate just how high up you have come!

Photo tip: bring a 14mm lens to fit it all in!

Devils tower (to me at least) doesn't look all that impressive in photographs but once I drove up to it my mind was instantly changed. the first moment you can see it is about 10 km's away and it is absolutely massive!!

Photo tip: do the hike around the base of the tower and stick around til after sunset to see the milky way in one of the darkest places in america! Also if you are lucky you will see climbers coming down after they watched sunset on the top of the tower!

Carhenge is weirdly cool to stop at! Having been to the real stonehenge I found this one slightly refreshing as it wasn't absolutely crawling with people! But basically it is a bunch of real cars that are setup like stonehenge and it looks awesome!

Make sure that you bring a sharpie or spray paint as they have a few cars up on the hill that you can sign!

Mount rushmore is something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. It is a MUST stop without a doubt but everyone knows that!

Now for the photographers perspective. Show up just before sunrise as the parking attendant's won't have started yet and nothing beats the first light on the presidents faces!
