First time I ever pumped my own gas was here LOL. Born and raised in Oregon, I was passing through on my way to Denver. The town looks cute and quiet. I wasn't aware of the history of the town at the time. Not a bad place if you have to stop.
No kidding, it is really hot! Make sure you have plenty of cold water. Also bring change! I forgot to stop to get change and paid $20 for my day entry fee. Even with it being hot spending an hour and a half there was not enough time. Planning on going back another time with more water so I can explore more!
Start at the light house, it's a left instead of a right when you see the sign for the beach. The light house honors those who have been fisherman from the area and a few of those who were lost at sea. The view of the bay and coast line from here is so tranquil and haunting at the same time. Then venture down the hill to the boat ramp. There is parking down there and you can walk right on to the beach. There is even a small tide pool area.
Budget friendly and the night manager was really sweet. I had to stay here when my plans had changed. Was worth the money to stay in a clean hotel room that was recommended by some nice locals.
We stayed here for a conference. Nice looking hotel, great location. They need to work on the cleaning service a little as we were not given adequate amount of towels and toilet paper. Our room wasn't cleaned when we were gone.
I made sure to stop here on my trip home from Colorado! I had no idea Frontier days was going on at the same time. Honestly, I came just to see the Lane Frost Statue. Thank you to the really nice security guard who let me park and take quick pictures before I went on my way.
