Only did the outside portion but it was extremely moving. A must-see in the OKC area!
Great beer and friendly bartenders. When I was there, they were pouring wine from a Louisville urban winery (I believe the winery is opening its own space sometime soon), which was also quite good.
Would be a nice beach in the summer but it loses something when the industrial area around the park is visible from the beach.
Skip this dune because its closed and the picture you get from the parking lot is not impressive at all. If you want to see a great dune, do the Dune Climb at Sleeping Bear.
If you want to stay on the Lake Michigan shore, go up to Sleeping Bear Dunes. This campground felt much shabbier than the one we had there and the walk-in site was much more difficult to reach (involved a more difficult walk and stairs at one point). Worst of all, you could hear the train running all night, which really made sleep difficult.
I loved this park. The scenic drive is excellent, the dune climb is fun, and the overall amenities for the park are evident. Definitely helped by the fact that cars must pay to enter. Highly recommended (also, if camping, look at the Platte River Campground, which is within the park - excellent facilities).
Loved this campground. Stayed in a walk-in tent site. Walk was relatively flat and easy and not far. Sites were well spaced out and facilities were great. Wish we had better cell reception but it was a very nice, off the grid type experience.
Awesome beer with a huge tapline. Great (but very busy) space. Definitely check this place out when you are in the area
Enjoyed a nice stay here in October 2021. Friendly staff, clean campground, and nice amenities. Will definitely consider using this campground again!
Walked down here with some ice cream and enjoyed snapping pics of the lake and the lighthouse. Good place to stretch your legs on a roadtrip.
