Completely worth it!! I would see the falls from Goat Island in NY, and stay in Canada. The NY side didn't have much as far as restaurants and things to do. The Canada side has WAY more. But NY has the better access to all the falls. Despite what you read online about not having to have a passport to get into Canada, you need one!

So cool and neat!! Definitely worth the out-of-the-way drive! Bring cash. They have a drop box for their "honor system" payments. They ask $5/person and it's worth every bit of it. We did the short loop because it was getting dark. If you go after a good rain, plan for wet paths and a little mud (where the right shoes). Roadtrippers get's the address from their website, but if you can't find it with that one, use the one from Google... 6902 Rohr Rd, East Otto, NY 14729.

Cute little spot to see, even if it's not Groundhog Day. Don't expect the scenes from the movie (as the movie was not actually filmed here). Gobbler's Knob is in the middle of nowhere, but the town of Punxsutawney is not far and pretty cute.

We grabbed a couple of drinks and sweet treats here and it was delicious! Seems like the food fair changes from time to time. Currently it's Cuban based foods. They give you neat little info sheets on the country they're featuring and it's a good spot to sit outside and picnic. It's not visible from the road, but it's in between the carousel and the grass field in the heart of the University of Pittsburgh.

There are definite operating hours. They close and lock gates at 7 PM. We arrived around 8 PM so we didn't get to see it. Don't know when they open. Try to make the trip. It's a pretty highway with beautiful sights of windmills!

We were a little scared of the owners based on previous comments, so we just pulled over across the street and shot a pic of the entrance. It was after hours when we drove by, but if you went to the shop (even if you didn't care to buy anything), you might be able to see more as a customer. Seems like it would be a cute stop though!

We couldn't find it... but we were counting on what imaps suggested based on what roadtrippers was telling it. We got directed to the middle of nowhere. Google it first and try to pinpoint the right location. Apparently it's near the Bedford fairgrounds.

We couldn't find it... but we were counting on what imaps suggested based on what roadtrippers was telling it. There is also a coffee pot-shaped building somewhere near by that we couldn't find for the same reasons. Google it first and try to pinpoint the right location.

Very cool to stop and grab a bite and hang out! Good for families... there are paddle boats, a carousel, and lots of outside play areas for kids. I'm not a fan of Peeps, but there is a Peep store dedicated solely to the marshmallow treats.

Very cool. Originally we were directed to the old Common Wealth of Children and Adolescence, and even though these buildings are shut down and abandoned, the actual Asylum is across Hwy 250 from there. It's actually on George M Cochran Pkwy. You'll pass one gate that's locked up, but keep driving around the back and you can actually pull up into the driveway to take you on the grounds. We were able to get better directions from the Asylum's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dejarnette-Childrens-Asylum/201660246549161?fref=ts
The only fence is right at the main front door but no where else, so you can get right up on the building. It's boarded up pretty tight. There was one board taken out in the back that you can get into the building from. Or a good drill can take the screws out of the boards. We didn't go inside just because we're chicken of the law and it was day time, but I wish we had.
