Nice place to visit, Tulip time is probably the optimal time to go, that is a huge festival that goes on. Be prepared for massive crowds then. Any other time, no crowds and a pleasant day can be spent here.
Wow! This place is a gem! Beautiful place to stop and relax. Have a picnic.... take a few photos.
So, we learned this isn't exactly the center. It's a nice monument but after learning that it was not the center.... we were a bit disappointed. Why erect such an elaborate monument when it's not the real thing?
What a really bizarre natural feature this is. You can hike the path around it. We saw climbers climbing up it when we were there! It defies the imagination and although there are theories to how it came to be, no one is 100% certain. This is something you should come to see. Plan on a couple hours. Great photos can be had here.
Who knew there was a badlands in North Dakota? I had only known about the south dakota badlands until we came here. These are similar but distinctive in their own way. More trees, and it's less stark.
This is a great stop for the photo op, but there's a little trail up the hill and a place to climb on rocks and stuff and stretch your legs. GREAT view of the surrounding area as you are high up on a hill.
Good photo op. A small roadway leads to it, they even have the spot marked where the best photos are taken from. Near a gas station and it's easy to get to.
This was no longer there as of February 2018.
This is in a quaint little shopping area. I would not go just to see this, but if you want to check out the shops then this would be worth it to go see.
It's big. You can climb on it. Fun photo op. There is a small parking lot on the west side of the rock. Don't go in the morning, or the sun will be behind you. Best in the afternoon or early evening.
