I could not find this museum or fort, using GPS. However, Fort Garland is a nice town and a beautiful area not far from Great Sand Dunes National Park, so I gave it 5-stars and I hope you find it.
A great night's stay, fantastic value with large rooms, a good fitness center that they accepted appointments for during Covid - where other hotels are lazy and just say no.

Looked like fun but I arrived too late. I would definitely come back and the drive to it on highway 8 was gorgeous.
You can see this from the interstate so I kept on driving. Nothing else but that. I suppose a good place to stop and stretch if you need to.
I agree with others, this is a great place to stretch your legs for a 30 minute break, just minutes off the interstate. A nice, little park too.

Nice stop to stretch your legs. The falls are neat and right off highway 2. I mean right off, be careful, because there is no slow down lane for the turn in a 65 mph 2-lane mountain road.

Very cool! The military ambulances, helicopters and tanks are awesome. Plus, it's right in the middle of Camp Ripley so lots of air and ground activity. The museum is quaint and worth an hour.
