Beautiful park with ten well-established hiking trails. The four spectacular waterfalls we were expecting to see were lacking water! We later discovered that the water runs only from December to June. Even with that disappointment, we enjoyed our visit. The drive through the park was lovely, and one of our hikes took us to an abandoned train tunnel that was open for exploring.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a beachfront suite at Quality Inn Oceanfront. The staff were friendly, and the hotel was updated. The atrium included tropical birds and reptiles that guests could interact with in the mornings. The room was affordable and even included free use of laundry facilities. Breakfast was not included, but complimentary fruit is available around the clock. A cafe was on site, and the room included a kitchenette. Our first-floor room opened up onto the beach. Really Enjoyed staying here with our four boys!
We attended an educational program with a homeschool group and found the presentation highly engaging and informative! The program included the science and history of falconry and interactive audience participation as we witnessed the Red-Tailed Hawk, the Harris Hawk, the Black Vulture, the Barn Owl, and the European Kestrel Falcon. Chip (the owner and program presenter) was great with kids! Fantastic all around!
Our family is traveling the 50 states, and the staff at Best Western Rockland were the most friendly and hospitable of all our travels. Although the facilities could be updated, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The service we received was outstanding and worthy of a top-notch rating.
