Furrrrrrrs. If you are a vintage fur enthusiast, it is worth it for you to turn off the Jersey Turnpike to Bordentown. This store has an entire cedar wardrobe of mink, fox and more from the turn of the century in great shape. They also had an impressive selection of vintage Harley Davidson leathers. The owner Jim is very nice and very helpful in navigating his emporium of antiques!

Great, great, great vintage store with fairly priced finds! The owner and staff are very sweet. They even gave us a guide to other stores that were on par with them so we were more efficient with our shopping time. They have a great eye and all of their pieces are really special including things like vintage Bob Mackie. I mean seriously? They know their stuff.

Everything here is a true piece of vintage carefully sorted into decades. I say true vintage because many times you can see that a tag has just been cut out from a piece that look vintage. Bygones really knows their vintage and has the prices to match that knowledge. We got a pair of 1920s riding Jodhpurs for $100 and the real seal was a 1940s taffeta silk cocktail dress with a petal skirts for $7 on the sale rack which had a tear at the armpit. It will have to be altered, but it is truly stunning. The lingerie selection is impressive and so is the mens suiting selection. I saw a father an son trying on original smoking jackets, which I thought was a real treat since a selection like that was rare. All over, this place is amazing and inspiring.

Best vintage warehouse in the south. Hand down. Raleigh in general is an absolute gem in NC in terms of understated or underrated style. We stopped here by happenstance and stumbled upon Father and Sons as it had a small rack of sale clothing outside. We went inside to inquire if there was more and were escorted to the back of the warehouse which was like finding an Oasis in the desert. There, in this huge 3,000 sqft + warehouse were racks upon racks of some of the most beautiful vintage from 70s to 80s Armani to Escada that just made me swoon. Prices on these said designer pieces? Under $40. This treasure trove didn't stop here. We were then ushered upstairs after we left piles of our finds behind the register with the amazing staff. The entire second floor is full of small rooms and alcoves of vintage clothing. Each room has a different aesthetic because each room is a different vendor, hence the different style. Needless to say we found more and more. I still dream about all of the things that I DIDN'T buy at Father and Sons and I left with more than I could even carry. On top of all of this, the furniture is to die for, but that is a whole other shopping trip, one that I will have to save for another review in the future.

An absolute GEM in the SOCO vintage shopping district. The amazing staff at Electric Ladyland insisted we come this way. We did have to pass by 3 times before we found an unlocked door despite the open sign. The owner Jonathan was down the road at the flea market shopping. He is as guilty as any of us, he too likes to shop more than he likes to sit around an sell so he was off treasure hunting like us so thats why we kept missing him. In the end we had an amazing time tearing through his store finding some amazing pieces. Him and his partner have great taste and he is very well embedded in the Austin music scene and has been a collector of limited edition concert t-shirts so you can find some pretty amazing original concert tees at the store and many more online at American Icon Austin. Most importantly, he knows what he has and he does not over price his things. As true vintage hunters its refreshing to see something that is well priced and you can tell they do it for the love of vintage.

Smaller selection of vintage than we had anticipated, yet it was still strong. Definitely higher priced than some of the other shops in the area. If you are a fan of vintage, you shouldn't skip out on a chance to be inspired here.

This place was completely unexpected stop on our vintage buying trip. We stopped to put gas in Texarkana and as we were passing saw the big bucket with the word "Treasure" and though, why not? First off, they are the nicest people. Second, they have a great eye and the pieces in there are very well chosen. We picked up some amazing taxidermy for $35 that in LA or NYC would have easily been over $200. When I am better prepared I will most definitely be coming back with a shipping plan to buy some special pieces of furniture for my home from here.

We popped in here on our way out of town for a quick lunch. We asked the woman how big the tacos were so we knew how many to order. She told us that she was only able to eat one in a sitting...so naturally we ordered two because we were starting. Lesson learned. The tacos are HUGE. I had the fish taco which was amazing and the beef taco which I would not order again. The salsa was amazing and the guac was decent but not the best I've ever had. Tacos are worth it if you are in the area.

A little speakeasy tucked away inside of the Architect Bar in downtown Raleigh. A very small space so get there early...if you can find it of course :) Its also a place for champagne and craft cocktails so leave your sneakers at home this night. The crowd was very surprising for a Monday night, the drinks were perfection. The bartender was making us cocktails off menu just based on what we said we liked and didn't so that was a plus. The atmosphere was upscale but non pretentious and it was easy to converse with friends without yelling over music. This is probably one of the more unexpected and interesting bars that we found on our road trip through the South. Way to bring it Raleigh.

So this may sound a little strange but this place had the best pretzel that I have ever had. It was soft and hot out of the oven served with spicy mustard, a sweet sauce and delicious cheese dip. I still think about it very fondly when Im faced with the thing called a pretzel that they sell at baseball stadiums. Cocktails were good and they have an impressive showcase of local craft beers. The decor just phenomenal and well the staff as you can imagine has that lovely Southern charm.
