Not my favorite national park facility but kinda cool. The tower could use a little work here and there. Still worth the drive up the hill from the fountains.
More beautiful even than I expected.
Great stop. The park is lovely, the Parthenon is very interesting and quite fascinating. The artwork held in the inner museum is fabulous. Make this visit and plan a little extra time. Wish I had taken more time there. Guess I’ll have to come back.
Hotel is nice and clean. Nowhere to eat though so stop in Carlsbad before you come on down the highway.
Absolutely fantastic! Don’t miss it - really - just don’t miss it! The directions are a little off. They may lead you astray. Watch for the brown park signs. You will likely find these about 5 miles south of where this app will take you. Easy to find if you use the national park signs. So worth it! Can’t say it enough - don’t miss this!
Looks like a great place to camp but the govt who should protect this spot has let it become a graffiti park. People’s names and tags I’ve the ancient art - very sad. You can still find a few authentic pieces but you aren’t supposed to Tom climbing into the rocks so you won’t see much but the evidence of criminal miscreants who climb all over and write their names on all the ancient works. Not worth the drive out unless you plan to camp in the lovely desert area by the park.
This is a little county park of sorts just off the highway. What a wonderful surprise. A fantastic stop to stretch your legs, see some unique art, climb some rocks and just be surprised. Don’t miss this one. Don’t miss the rock path. There is a surprise around every corner and it’s just wonderfully unexpected.
