This was an interesting stop. The visitor center had a lot of information and a short movie showing how the dam and the Devonian fossil gorge came to be. There were fossils on display that you could look at with magnifying glasses. The center employee gave my 5 year old a goody bag with coloring books and tattoos. They even have a pressed penny machine that is free. Just bring a shiny penny. This was a highlight since we look for these machines everywhere we go and we have never seen one that is free. The view of the dam from the visitor center is wonderful.

This was a fun stop on our road trip. My girls (5, 9, & 11) enjoyed it and it was a welcomed break from driving. There is a playground onsite also, so the kids were able to let off more steam there before getting back in the car. The antique carousel itself is very interesting to see.

My husband and I stopped here with our three girls (5, 9 & 11) to see Moai Dude while on a road trip. We had no idea this park was here also and it was a nice surprise. The girls loved the park and we enjoyed a rest. They deemed it one of the best stops on the whole road trip!

A very fun stop for me, my husband and my three girls. They had a blast finding fossils and seeing all the interesting rock formations. They were so excited each time they found something interesting. Definitely also stop at the Coralville Lake Visitor Center to learn more about this fossil gorge and how it was created.
