Large, large area. Lots to do. If you like hiking, there's hundreds of options. If you like climbing, I think there's even more. Looks like people just set up shop on the side of the road and go boulder on random cliff faces. Feels like you're getting really far "away" when visiting Red River Gorge.
South Beach is iconic. You really have to swing by if you're in the area. All the comments about muscle beach are SO true and you see people rollar blading/making out on the side of the road. The colors are also vibrant and wonderful.
This place is not clean, but it's the only hotel near the Over The Rhine area. I do not recommend staying here though-- hit up the 21C or check out Airbnb.
Really great, new place. Enjoyed the vibe. Seems like a good spot to do work. They have a slim selection of delicious pastries and bagels (cleveland bagels!). The coffee is all pour over (or espresso) and the beans change. I had one with blackberry in it that didn't quite do it for me, but I think it was the flavor profile, as the coffee itself was incredibly well made.
Fountain square is really a fun time in the summer and winter. Summer season brings different varieties of music on different nights. Winter has the ice rink. The square has a beautiful fountain and a lot of restaurants ringing it. I'd say the restaurants pale to the eating you can do on vine street, but they're okay if you're looking for easy downtown dining
This is definitely an icon, but be ready for an experience versus somethign comfortable and soothing. Amazing design though! Love the retro feel
Be careful if you're going to visit Fricks Lock. It is private property, but you can arragne to have tours if you are down to plan ahead. On weekends there can be a few perday! Check the link to find their facebook page with more details
Best spot ever for concretion viewing and playing with your balls of sedimentary rock. These style of rocks are a really cool geological phenomena where the rocks themselves are harder than the sedimentary rocks that formed around them. The other bits of earth have since washed away and these boulders are left. Now they've been smoothed by the waves and are a wonderful natural playground.
Right in the heart of capetown (and right next to the rubgy field), this place has an amazingly informative tour. Very fun to check out.
This place was an odd experience for me. Lots of nature, but kind of sad to see everything so cooped up. Also, do NOT spend money on the croc diving because it's expensive and it's not adventurous at all once you get in there.
