Spring fed - 25 ft depth. Constant 72 to 76 degrees. They have diving boards. One side is deeper than other. No dogs allowed. Visit site for more details, but you do pay fee to get in (worth it).

Did a quick scuba dip here. Air across the road. Crystal clear water (until other in training divers mucked up bottom - though it clears up at a good pace). We found some of the springs feeding it - it was like watching a pot of water boil but with gravel bubbling instead of the water. Super cool. Lots of little fishies that are not timid. Think they get fed by people. They definitely liked my gopro - if I held still they'd try to nibble on my fingers. Not painful, but quite shocking at first. Little buggers.

Worth it for just a quick swim too (don't worry, fishies only hung out on bottom and left non-divers alone).

This is such a cool sculpture. Totally worth the stop. Very nice well kept surrounding area. Dog park behind it (just behind tree line). Field next door was all tall grass / hay where someone had come along with a tractor and mowed various walking paths mostly in a circle with private little branched off inlets were either log benches, real sitting rocks, or fake climbing rocks (little hand holds for children - none over 6 ft) had been setup.

Pretty cool stop. Worth it. A shame the fence keeps you out - would have loved to walk around, get more than one perspective. Somewhat small, but I think most ghost towns are.

***NOT Pet Friendly***
Really would have loved to hike here. Made the stop, went to pay ($7), but was informed that my dog would not be able to accompany me.

Favorite stop on my way to Marfa. Totally worth it. Very random, cool, and great pictures. Apple maps had trouble finding it, but switched to Google and we were good. Definitely go here. So glad we found this on Roadtrippers.

Loved this place. Stopped on the way back from Marfa and it was one of my favorite detours. It's almost like you are in the Sahara. Take your shoes off and go for a stroll. Gorgeous, so random and cool, and great picture taking. If you can, bring a sled. Seriously. It's like snow. There were a couple kids with sleds there going down various dunes it made me a bit jealous to watch. Like others have said - be sure to stop by the office at the entrance and pay (I think it's only a $4 entrance fee). I kept on expecting a booth and maybe gate - when I didn't see one, I thought, cool it's free. Nope. Got a notice to stop by the office and then long lectures from a park ranger and the lady manning the counter.

Stopped here on our way to Marfa. Really cool - one of the favorite stops we made. Worth it. As others have said, the dirt roads leading to this were closed of by gates. So, we just parked and scooted under. I would def suggest reading the history and facts behind it - always leads to a better appreciation. Oh, and this is great to pic taking : )
