Gorgeous park, wish we could have booked more days however the weekends were clearly popular and for good reason. Nice facilities, beautiful trails, views for days in the fall. Wow. Only slight complaint was the uneven camp spot we got late at night with the popup camper which made setup inconvenient. Very chill rangers. Would definitely enjoy more if we can come earlier and stay more than a night. Kids give it a thumbs up.
The gentleman who checked us in was very welcoming and was excited to chat about the harvest moon and Jupiter and Saturn being visible. We definitely enjoyed our stop by for the evening. Nice bathrooms down the hill at the top of the campground and the tree filled side area we camped at was very pretty; even the nice seating by the pond at night was serene. If we drive through we would definitely stop again!
BEST park rangers I have ever met. Recommendations for fall festivals nearby with hot cider and pumpkins. We hiked at brandywine falls and thoroughly enjoyed the views and education (survival training). The ranger who swore our jr rangers in was incredible!! We will certainly be back through very soon!
The dunes are incredible, particularly the hike at cowles bog. Wow. Tough up the sand dune from the beach with three kids under 5😅😅but gorgeous even in the sleet and storm!
