Not very impressed. I was happy to see all the hands on items and we enjoyed the flags in the parking lot and the movies in the theater. However two of the ships were closed during our visit and not one costumed staff member talked to my children about any of the history and that was our whole point in going. The staff were too busy telling the senior citizens about the history instead. I almost felt like my three kids ages 12, 5, and 3 were completely ignored by all of the staff. This is not a place I would be in a rush to return to. I brought my kids here for a homeschooling experience and made that know to the front desk staff and was ignored by every staff member I ran into after that.

I would greatly recommend Anvil campground to anyone visiting Williamsburg. My kids had a great time at the three different parks available and with the horseshoes. I was able to do laundry and get quarters from the front desk with no problems at all and everything was kept very clean. The restrooms are a little tight if your a bigger person and the walls in the restroom stalls should be a bit taller for better privacy but that was our only complaint. We stayed four nights and loved it. 5 stars from us. I would recommend to the staff to build a tall noise canceling fence to block sounds of traffic and trains but considering other places we stayed at were much louder, we were not bugged by the noise at all. The staff was very friendly and extreamly knowledgable, and respectful. When it was time for the pool to close we got a polite 20 min warning. I was impressed by the kindness and knowledge of the woman we checked in with to the point we doubled our stay here. Then the maintenence guy David was also very friendly and when I noticed ants on the playground though they were harmless he took care of them right away. 5 stars all the way, highly reccomended

We tried to go here but were sadly disappointed when it came to finding parking for our motorhome. We have been on a cross country trip trying to teach our kids all kinds of history by taking them to the actual sites and were quite disappointed to find out we could not park less than 2.4 miles from the bell.

We stayed here recently but were very disappointed. It is a very over priced parking lot. The view was great especially if you got a few good spots, which we did not. I was impressed with the locking codes on the restrooms but then the restrooms themselves were not impressive at all. We had mold on our showers and spiders above us while showering. Then the employee at the desk tried to direct us to the ferry for the Statue of Liberty and said it was a short walk but ended up being a long 2 mile walk at least. We stayed because we were told on the phone it had convient transportation to the Statue of Liberty for those in motorhomes but then did not and turned out there is parking available for motorhomes at the parking area by the tickets for the ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. I wish I had not wasted my money here.
