We took a road trip to the Grand Canyon and added Zion National Park as a stop. We were blown away by the trails, the scenery, and the absolutely wonderful town of Springdale! The best way to do the park is to leave your car at the hotel and ride the free shuttle in. The first shuttle stop inside the park is at the Visitors Center and the wait is over an hour long, all day! Skip it and take the Pa’rus Trail up to the museum, then catch a shuttle to whatever stop you want.

This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a great place to stay within the park. It is close to the shuttle stops, the Visitors Center and the Market Place. The rooms are actually in groups of buildings within walking distance of the Lodge. Even though we didn’t bring our dog, I was impressed by the pet friendliness of the room. It had a large travel kennel with goodies for traveling pups! The only issue was the fact that these rooms don’t have air conditioning. Surprisingly, the ceiling fan kept us comfortable, even in August.

This was a great stop on our way out to the Grand Canyon. It isn’t cheap, but we enjoyed it and got some great pictures! I do wish that we hadn’t paid extra for the 4-d film, it’s 10 minutes long. It was for a much younger audience, so if you or your kids are over the age of 8, you should skip that. We spent a little time in the gift shop and found a few things. Everyone that I spoke with was extremely pleasant and helpful.
