Clean and nice KOA. The wifi is terrible, but everything else about the location is desirable. It's off the main roads, and no traffic noise.
It's off the highway and easily accessible. Great spot to stretch your legs and snap a few pictures.
I called the owners and indeed, they allow artists to tag and paint away! They said the only stipulation is "no gang signs or profanity". I had my paint supplies with me, and I added my piece!!!!
We thought the sound of the wind chime was disappointing, but the grandeur of the wind chime was worth the stop.
We got our tokens for free! We set up the iPhone to take video. Within the video, we captured a still-shot for a picture to share with friends. Very cool detour.
Great KOA! The only problem is that two of our GPS systems navigated us in the opposite direction of the address. Be aware of that, once you exit off 261. The campsite is very tidy, and the bathrooms are spotless.
We love art centers....but this one was a bit disappointing. I think the art that was on display was fantastic, but we were hoping to see more than just one exhibit. It's free.....so if you need to pull off the road to stretch, than it's worth the effort.
The museum is on a military base...so get your ID ready and tell the front guards that you're visiting the museum. It's a very cool place, and worth the effort to see it.
This was our first experience with a KOA, and I was extremely happy with it. We came in a little later in the evening and the owner was very helpful and kind, even though it was after store hours. The cabin and bathrooms were very clean. Free wifi and a little tv in the cabin was an added bonus. The mattress was comfortable and the heater maintained a comfortable temperature throughout the chilly night. Great night of rest for only $46!
We stopped late at night, and we were pleasantly surprised that a big spot light highlighted the easel, so we were still able to enjoy it!!!
