The views of the drive are great. There are three waterfalls which are fairly roadside or short hike. These are pretty.
In the middle of the bi-way is a stop for a hime called the Devil’s Washbasin. It’s a fantastic hike about a mile off the road along a creek bed culminating in a set of natural waterslides and waist-deep wading pools. We took kids and dogs and had a blast. It’s somewhat busy and requires some scrambling. Wear shoes that can get wet as there’s no way around the water. This was a great hike.
The train ride offers great value at 2 hours round trip. The onboard snack options are minimal but also inexpensive. The views are great, but the storytelling from the host is pretty lackluster. We did the shoot-out train in the evening and our kids thought that was pretty fun.
The park is clean and compact, but lots of stairs and steep climbs. The mountain coaster was a unique and exciting ride with short lines. There is also a zip line and “shoot-the-zombies” ride, plus a ropes course and the cave. We got the day pass and it was money well-spent. Plenty to do for half a day, lots of cool places to sit and enjoy the ice cream. Our kids (9, 12, 14) had a great time and we had line of sight to them everywhere. Highly recommend.
