Located on the side of the HWY. Get off in Salinas, grab a quick bite, fill up your tank and enjoy the quick photo op.

Visited in February 2020, the drive in is long and questionable, but the reward at the end is definitely worth it. Would recommend to all those who are thinking about it to definitely take the time to visit. Great views, neat rock formations, and a beautiful drive inside the park.

Great little cave to visit -- tour is about an hour long, easy to maneuver inside the cave. The tour guide we had was knowledgeable and walked slow so that it was easy to follow. Compared to other caves, such as Carlsbad Caverns, yes, this cave system is small and not as grand, however, is still worth the time. Cute little gift shop where you get your tickets. Get there in the morning when they open for smaller groups.

Visited in July 2019 in the morning and no one was around minus the few joggers and bikers which was nice. You do have to walk over a charming little bridge from the parking lot - but it is easily accessible to everyone. Great quick little detour.

I visited in July of 2019 and wanted a short detour on my way to Provo, Utah. I did not realize at the time that Elephant Rock is located in Valley of Fire State Park which is outside of Vegas. Elephant rock is located at the end of the park, but the drive through and other rock formations seen along the way are spectacular. It is not a "quick" trip at all, so if you have a couple hours (at least) to spend, do it!
There is a parking lot near Elephant rock and you can do an easy short hike to it, or it can also be seen and pictured off the side of the road.
