LOVED it here! The staff and owners were so friendly and helpful. The tour was very informative and fun. The rooms were lovely and beds quite comfy. We had a very good night's sleep despite being in Lizzie and Emma's rooms!! Breakfast was delicious and the other guests were lovely and some of us have kept in touch since. Would LOVE to stay again and hopefully stay in Maplecroft some day.
Lovely hotel. We had a lovely visit here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really close to town and things we needed. Beds were comfortable...nothing really to complain about. Would happily stay again.
We had a pleasant enough stay. Location was handy as was right next to an IHOP for early/late meals and a quick drive into the city. Room was adequate. The only issue I had was there's no elevator as it's an older building and I had to carry heavy bags up the stairs with arthritic knees.
Well this was neat and you definitely can NOT miss it!!
STAY STAY STAY!!! This was definitely my FAVE place we stayed at while driving the Route. The owners (who I read are looking to sell it this year :( ) were amazing and so welcoming and friendly!! It felt like we were staying with family. The rooms were just a perfect step back in time and a great 'visitors room' with a shared fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/drier. Great merchandise...I love my housecoat <3 I'd LOVE to stay here for longer next time and wish I could buy it myself as I totally fell in love with Blue Swallow and Tucumcari.
We loved staying here last summer. Ramona was a lovely host, telling us so much history and showing us her photos of the days back when. We needed help getting back on the Route and to things we wanted to see and she gave us very good directions and a bit of history on where we were going to as well. The rooms were a real throwback, the bathroom in our room was very much like at my grandmother's place when I was a kid. Great location for food and shopping.
We visited here in August 2018 and loved it. The owners were so sweet and inviting. They were holding a picnic with the local church to raise funds for some needed improvement for the church. Great vintage items to look at, great food from the parishioners that day. It would be great to go back. The owners truly love the garage and home/land and you can tell.
LOVED LOVED LOVED Staying here!! Bunny was so sweet and inviting when we arrived. The rooms were lovely and I especially loved the fact that *whispers* there are no tvs!! Just retro radios playing classic music or even older versions of more current songs. Very relaxing and a great place to unwind after a long day on the road. Hope to stay again some day
Neat roadside attraction! Great for picnics and watching all the turtles in lake. Glad to see it is being taken care of but would be cool if it could be brought up to code so it can be used again as a swimming area.
We first saw Harley on the Nomadic Fanatic's YouTube Channel when he met him early 2018 I believe, so we HAD to try and visit him as well. Harley and his Redneck Castle did NOT disappoint! He has an AMAZING collection of classic, retro signs and 'doo-dads' He was very friendly and welcoming showing us all around and encouraged photos and videos. We had a great family snap out front with an original R66 sign and he topped it all off by grabbing his guitar and treating us with his rendition of Get Your Kicks on Route 66!! He's not for everyone but we loved him!!
