I went here a few years ago as it was the ice cream shop 'featured' at the end of Disney Pixar's UP. We really enjoyed it and I plan to go back next year while on vacation.
LOVED it here! The staff and owners were so friendly and helpful. The tour was very informative and fun. The rooms were lovely and beds quite comfy. We had a very good night's sleep despite being in Lizzie and Emma's rooms!! Breakfast was delicious and the other guests were lovely and some of us have kept in touch since. Would LOVE to stay again and hopefully stay in Maplecroft some day.
Lovely hotel. We had a lovely visit here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really close to town and things we needed. Beds were comfortable...nothing really to complain about. Would happily stay again.
We had a pleasant enough stay. Location was handy as was right next to an IHOP for early/late meals and a quick drive into the city. Room was adequate. The only issue I had was there's no elevator as it's an older building and I had to carry heavy bags up the stairs with arthritic knees.
GREAT food!! Neighbourhood looks a little worrying but we were coming at night for the first time. Lovely little place and omg the fried chicken!!!!
Well this was neat and you definitely can NOT miss it!!
omg get the PIE!!!! We had a lovely stop here, full of photos, talking with the owners/locals and FOOD!! Also go next door to the sunflower shop and talk to the ladies in there <3
STAY STAY STAY!!! This was definitely my FAVE place we stayed at while driving the Route. The owners (who I read are looking to sell it this year :( ) were amazing and so welcoming and friendly!! It felt like we were staying with family. The rooms were just a perfect step back in time and a great 'visitors room' with a shared fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/drier. Great merchandise...I love my housecoat <3 I'd LOVE to stay here for longer next time and wish I could buy it myself as I totally fell in love with Blue Swallow and Tucumcari.
OMG YOU'VE GOT TO STOP HERE!! Great silly roadside 'attraction' with the little shops and bars along the strip as well as the freakshow with lots of weird things. But the General Store...LMAO this is a place who had a crappy town name and just RAN with it for the better!!
We loved staying here last summer. Ramona was a lovely host, telling us so much history and showing us her photos of the days back when. We needed help getting back on the Route and to things we wanted to see and she gave us very good directions and a bit of history on where we were going to as well. The rooms were a real throwback, the bathroom in our room was very much like at my grandmother's place when I was a kid. Great location for food and shopping.
