Realising we'd be driving through the Avenue of the Giants at night we changed our plans and camped at a rest stop just past Laytonville on the 101 for the night so we could get up early in the morning and have a short 45 minute drive to the Avenue of the Giants south entrance. We are so glad we did. We largely had the whole 50+ mile circuit to ourselves and it was beautiful.
