Though you cannot go into the buildings off season, many local photographers pick Rock Ledge Ranch for its quiet country atmosphere to backdrop their Senior and Wedding photos. You are allowed to wander the trails any time of year.
If you happen to come during an event it's going to be busy with hundreds of people wandering around. It's still a great time, but a different, more bustling family atmosphere.
During its open season, if you come on a day that no events are happening, you can pay a small entrance fee to have a quiet, more personal-centric your of the various buildings.
Though photography is encouraged, tripods are limited to outdoors which can pose a challenge for picture-taking inside the buildings.
Whether you're into history or photography, the ranch has been a regular must-see.

This is one of those nostalgia-esque places that anyone over 40 will appreciate and anyone younger will be amused by. Pinball machines from the 50's to the 80's adorn the right half of the arcade while electronic games from the 70's and 80's fit snugly on the left. You might not spend hours here, but you'll be kicking yourself if you didn't at least drop in.

One of my favorite places to stay - it's posh enough that you know you're in a 5-star hotel. It's spirited enough to earn its haunted fame. It's offbeat enough to make accessing one of the newest national parks easy and enjoyable. The price is high (haunted rooms cost an extra per-night-premium) which can deter many, but their food is fantastic and their tours are highly entertaining. It's worth a stop at the very least.
