Very cool place to go for everyone, not just science geeks. Aside from the array, the surrounding countryside and drive is beautiful.

Quick ride of about 10 minutes off the blue ridge to the summit. Nice views, nice little restaurant and as the tallest peak a cool place to go. If you've done mt. Washington it's not quite as much fun or steep, but still really good.
