This place is the worst place I have ever camped in Oregon State Park. Ugly terrain, abundance of staff willing to tell you the rules but unwilling to help you. We picked a spot halfway home from family trip and this was it, don't know why anyone would ever camp here. Lies about Wi-Fi, they have it listed on reserve America and you can see it available but when you ask for the token needed to log on, staff said it is "ghost" Wi-Fi = not really any WiFi... Whatever! People working there should be fired. Also smells like the staff is smoking pot, which explains the lack of motivation when asked for assistance with anything.
We are from Idaho, we camp along the Oregon coast every couple of years. Usually we wing it and stay wherever we can get in but this year we decided to make reservations.
We googled best campgrounds on the Oregon coast and decided to camp places we can stay at least 3 days. So this was on the trip. We had a blast. The Oregon coast I'd beautiful, the hiking is phenomenal for all levels. We hiked around the campgrounds in the mornings, hit the cove for paddle boards in the afternoons, sunsets on the beach or off the trails at Shore Acres.
Of special interest was the number and diversity of the hiking trails. Such a great time seal watching, hiking and checking out the botanical gardens. Coos Bay is more of a working coastal town vs a tourist town so the shopping/seafood is better, less expensive and less pretentious then like Newport or Lincoln City

At Beverly Beach, we hiked around the campgrounds in the mornings, hit devil's punchbowl up the road about a mile and a half at low tide for the sea life. Checked out Newport in the afternoons. Walked along the beach at sunset in the evenings.
The kids had a blast. Of special good time was the Newport Zoo and the aquatic science center. The Newport Zoo was kinda spendy at $10 each but if you want to pet a baby kangaroo, its worth it! I will post photos, you are welcome!
Ok, good stop for the night. February 2018, $40 per night
Nice, clean. Spacious bathrooms with warm showers. Laundry facilities, it's all good
I love this place, we always stay here. My view is the Salmon River. Lovvvvve it
Nice and clean. Pleasant hosts, I'd stay here again. We paid $34 per night on a Tuesday in March 2016.
Arrived on a Monday, I Loved that the place was quiet and the room is lovely. Don't love that the only option for food is Mels Dinner. The food was terrible. I came here on the recommendation of my brother = all you can eat lobster buffet, sign me up right? Well, that is only Fri/Sat/Sun but great steakhouse right? Nah, that's only open on the weekend, what??? Yep, only options for food are a takeout deli (wish I had tried that) and the dinner $56 for two prime ribs and drinks but the food was terrible
Super noisy, traffic... Run a fan to sleep
Easy access to the freeway. Checked in after hours, no big deal. Paid $40, when I called the answering service to get code to the bathroom and info on the Wi-Fi, they wouldn't give it to me! Wth??? One foot path between sites is fake grass... The only thing I can recommend about this place is electric hookups
