If you enjoy the beautiful outdoors, peaceful hiking, invigorating waterfalls, and incredible stone masonry work...you will fall in love with this state park, just outside of Ithaca. Breathtaking views. Simply a must see. The entrance fee will get you into any of the other 29 state parks in the Finger Lakes Region on the same day.
The natural environment was beautiful. Lush green moss, cascading water, and a miniature gorge. The issue? People. Tons of them on a Monday afternoon with a good bit of alcohol consumption and marijuana smoking. We wanted to go there to see the and experience the pools, to hear the rushing water and feel the coolness amongst the trees. Instead, it was a 5 min stay to get away from the chaos. DCNR needs a stronger presence in such a heavily used and eroded area.
Misleading. Not that it's the worst place we ever stayed, but it's definitely not the best. In fact, our children were concerned for their safety. Costs as much as a Marriott hotel room -- it's not near a highway, doesn't have moths, people aren't drinking outside of your room until 2am, and you have bedding. Sorry, it's just not all its cracked up to be!
