The lovely, nicely mowed field between the buildings and the Hocking River was a popular place for Ohio University students to take a blanket and spend a lazy afternoon doing what randy college students do!

A nice motel, quiet and clean. The room was a bit small, but the only time we were in it was to collapse and go fast asleep after a day of exploring!

We were there on a recent weekday and were the only people, aside from the nice man who welcomed us. The hike up the main ridge was somewhat challenging for those of us of aging bones and lungs, but we made it. The petroglyphs are everywhere; see some on one side of a rock, then go around to the backside and there are more. I think sunset would be pretty neat here, and good opportunities for night-sky photography if you camp. A tip: we looked for the specific address on Google and it routed us to a nice family's backyard tomato patch. Just head north out of Tularosa and look for the familiar brown National Park signs. And take water!
