Make time to take a hike! There are a few paths you can take from the visitors center and if you can get there, the views from Phelps lake are spectacular!

Really interesting. Fun, easy hikes on paved and dirt trails. We stayed at the KOA at the base of the hill which had excellent views and showed "close encounters of the third kind" every night which made it even more magical.

An amazing experience. It was educational, the hoop dancer was great, as were the craft opportunities for the kids. We parked at the back of the upper parking lot so had a great view of the light snow, and because it was June 26, were present for the blast. I hope the Natives cherish this effort as much as it is intended. When it it finished it will be spectacular.

I wish we could have done the Scenic tour. The rock formation examples in the visitors center were gorgeous. The slots filled up quickly just as reviews here have stated, so we did the historical tour instead. You carry a lantern and go down steep stairs, but overall, it was a bit of a disappointment. Money would have been better spent elsewhere. We also have an "every kid in a park" pass that did not qualify for this tour but would have for the scenic tour.

We went on the popular tour. Walked down about 300 stairs and then came up in a elevator. The box work is really interesting. Did not need a flashlight but would recommend a sweatshirt.

Stopped inside for a postcard, pressed penny, and my daughter got a spoon for her collection too.

We are a huge fan of this park. We camped at the RV park and wouldn't do it any other way. We have stayed in C'ouer D'Alene before but if you want to switch between parks, even though there are changing areas, it was nice to take the kids back to the trailer to change and take a break. Two day tickets are cheapest at the gate but a one day pass is a deal at the RV park office.

A must see. We camped at the RV park at the base of the hill. Drive 3 miles up to the visitor center that also houses a restaurant and gift shop. The guided tour takes 2 hours and you will need good walking shoes and a light jacket as it does get chilly. It's a lot of walking. Uphill and down stairs so keep that in mind. You won't need a head lamp. We loved it! We saw bats sleeping at the entrance which was an added bonus.
